Fun on the Farm

P3 enjoyed visiting Langhill Dairy Farm today. We got to meet the cows and their calves up close. We also saw the milking parlour and learned all about the dairy industry. We finished the morning by making some butter and we even got to milk a cow!!!! Don’t worry…. it was Charlotte, the plastic cow. We now know what goes into our little milk carton at school.

P3A Langhill Farm

Primary 3 thoroughly enjoyed their trip to Langhill Farm today. They got to see how a dairy farm works and how the cows and calves are looked after every day. They learned a lot about dairy products, how much cows eat every day and how cows are milked. They even all got to try milk Charlotte the plastic cow!

Autumn Art

P3A took to the outdoors today to scavenge for leaves for an animal art activity. Needless to say, a massive pile of leaves keeps 30 kids happy and entertained for quite a while! Here’s a snapshot of some of our leafy creations from this afternoon

P3 Harvest Assembly

P3 did brilliantly in their roles for the Harvest Appeal for Foodbank. As usual Sciennes was very generous! Assembly saw the front of the hall looking like a supermarket! Thank you everyone! & well done P3!

P3C Apples and Pears

Come and try one as one of your 5 A Day! Take a look at the wonderful apples and pears we made as part of our Food and Farming topic. We used a variety of materials to make them and then sponge painted them to look as realistic as possible. They look delicious!

P3C enjoyed a great Harvest afternoon! They went on a treasure hunt and made either apple punch or hay bales! I’m sure they would love to make some at home for their families!

Here is a flavour of our afternoon!
