*No Grandmas were harmed in the making of this medicine* Continuing with our instruction writing and linking to our recent class novel ‘George’s Marvellous Medicine’, P3A created a concoction of our own. We talked about the order we would put in our ingredients and what our bossy sentence would be as we made our medicine! We all tried a spoonful at the end, thankfully with no side effects apart from a mini sugar rush. But that just gave us extra energy to do our instruction writing!
Month: September 2018
Pizza Express
P3A ventured to Pizza Express for their first class trip this year to become professional pizza chefs for the day! There we met Dexter who helped us follow the steps to make our very own tasty cheese pizzas. The rain held off long enough for us to sit outside and enjoy a slice or two before we went back to school. A big thank you to Hamish’s mum, Leo’s mum, Annie’s mum and Mrs Mehmood for accompanying us on a thoroughly enjoyable trip.
Pizza Chefs
P3C braved the weather and headed off to pizza express where they enjoyed making a pizza. Even better was eating it!!
P3C outdoor learning
P3C headed outside to think about how the outdoors makes us feel! They had some lovely ideas!
P3C beans
P3C ‘planted’ some beans today! Let’s hope they grow!
Making a mess! P3A
We have been focusing on instruction writing in primary three this term. We have been learning about ‘bossy verbs’ and other features of instruction writing. We followed the instructions to conduct the experiment Make a Mess… There was lots of glitter, laughter, excitement, foam, goo, sticky fingers, a strong smell of vinegar and (thankfully) some table cloths!
Sandwich makers
P3C were superb at sandwich making! & even better at eating them!!!
Constructions …
… in our Play RITE sessions!
Maths magic
P3C have been impressing Mrs Gibb and Miss P with their maths brilliance. Here are some of them playing a game with a partner.
Outdoor Maths
P3A went outdoors to practise their counting.Using chalk we drew lots of empty number lines and hopscotches and practised counting forwards and backwards as we jumped. We worked
in pairs and small groups and gave each other a starting number to count forwards or backwards from…some of us even counted in 2s, 5s and 10s as we hopped too!
